Pic-a-day

UPDATE: 5/20/11
Pic-a-day is down indefinitely because my pannier bag (along with my camera) was stolen. :( It was a good run. Didn't quite make a whole year, but looking over what I did, it was a pretty cool project while it lasted! It kept my sanity through one of the more emotionally difficult times of my life and I'm glad to be able to see the culmination of all the images from my daily life. It's pretty neat to see all of the images as a whole. :)

UPDATE: 4/14/2011
Well...I should have known that wouldn't have lasted long! I think that this challenge (referenced below) is a little too much...in fact, I'm forgetting that I have my camera. I'm going back to the regular old whatever picture I happen to take and leave it at that! If I find inspiration that causes a pattern awesome. But I can't let that limit me, just being motivated to do this every day is challenge enough!

UPDATE: 4/5/2011
I'm now incorporating a new idea into Pic-a-day to give it a little bit of focus and a challenge. I will attempt to carry one theme from the previous day's photo into the next day's photo. The first post carries the theme of a bike. Tomorrow, may be a color. Can you spot the patterns?

I'm also going to start posting for the previous day, that way I have a full day in order to take photos and not worry about posting late. Dates are kind of relative to me anyway. :P

This project is something I had bounced around for a little while.  Just take a picture a day and post it.  It can be artistically done or a casual snapshot, anything is game.  The point is so I can exercise my creative "muscle", develop my artistic eye, and generally, be more observant of the world around me.

After I started I was inspired to keep going because of this Polaroid a day project: http://photooftheday.hughcrawford.com/
This guy (Jamie Livingston) literally posted a photo a day until the day he died of cancer...two decades of visual memories in all.  Including his quick wedding a couple of weeks before the end.

So my project probably won't be THAT deep, but here it goes!
